Porta Nomentana I Conservation Design presents both theoretical and practical approach to conservation design. The preliminary phase involved an extensive chronological and historical analysis, along with a geometrical survey, to gather bibliographical and physical data. Based on the preliminary studies; architectonical survey, masonry analysis, typological analysis, metrological analysis, degradation and intervention study was prepared. Based on these preliminary studies, we conducted an architectural survey, masonry analysis, typological analysis, metrological analysis, and a degradation and intervention study. The project was completed in collaboration with Arch. Beliz Tepret.
The course of the Conservation Design Studio was held by Prof. Rossana Mancini during the fall and spring semesters of 2023/24, as a part of the curriculum of the Master's degree in Architecture (Conservation) of Sapienza University of "Rome". The project was awarded the high honors grade "30 e lode."
